mário drgoňa is a dramaturg and theater maker. He also works in cultural management and appears occasionally as a performer. For more than five years, he worked as a dramaturgy lecturer at the Slovak National Theatre Drama ensemble, where he participated in non-formal education, audience development, international projects, and the dramaturgy of individual productions in the theatre's repertoire. He currently works as a dramaturg at the Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav Municipal Theater in Bratislava and as an assistant professor at the Department of Directing and Dramaturgy at the Academy of Performing Arts. He studied theater dramaturgy and playwriting there and worked as an external lecturer for several years. He develops his writing and directing practice in theater and radio production; he also has experience in comic book creation, journalism, and publicism. For more than three years, he ran the theater section of the monthly magazine kapitál. For five years, he led the festival of Slovak professional independent theater Fokus Pokus and also the international music project In Between Books Sessions. In his current work, he deals with the modern political history of Slovakia, structural oppression, and institutionalized power.
